Healthy, Wealthy & Wise

Week Two
“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” – Frederick Douglass

Healthy

Take vitamin D supplements. For those of us with limited daily sun exposure or darker skin, vitamin D deficiency is likely to be a problem. Nearly 40% of Americans are vitamin D deficient, despite its role in maintaining strong bones, keeping your heart pumping and allowing your immune system to fight off pathogens. While fish like sardines, salmon and mackerel are your best bet for natural vitamin D, there are plenty of supplements out there to remedy your deficiency.

“If you want to be healthy, start taking vitamin D.”

Wealthy

Stop paying for cable. Nearly a quarter of American Baby Boomers and Generation X’ers cite their own cable and digital TV bills as an unnecessary expenditure. And it comes at a high cost too, as the average American cable bill is about 100$ per month! This means that by switching to Netflix, you can save roughly $1,100 per year, while still being able to watch your favourite TV shows and movies. It’s really a no-brainer.

“If you want to be wealthy, stop paying for cable.”

Wise

Breathe through your nose. In moments of anger and stress, we often forget to breathe as regularly. This week, when faced with a frustrating situation – an early-morning traffic jam, a rude customer, or an unpleasant interaction with a boss – take the time to consciously breathe through your nose. This mediative technique will allow you to calm down, re-focus and prevent you from losing your cool.

“If you want to be wise, start breathing through your nose.”

To our readers,

We hope that last week served as an encouraging start. Let’s keep building on the progress we have made.

Humbly yours,

Leo and Yasna
